Inspiring the Future
Over the course of time, engineering and technology have influenced our world socially, economically, politically and culturally. From the invention of the wheel to the many complex technological innovations of today, the intertwined relationship between engineering and humanity is undeniable. REACH (Raising Engineering Awareness through the Conduit of History), an IEEE History Center program, provides high school history teachers with the tools they need to make this important aspect of engineering come to life in their classrooms. Teachers have access to free, educational resources to enhance their classroom and enrich the learning experience for their students. Analyzing historical and current examples of the inter-relationship between engineering, technology and society enables students to further develop critical thinking skills for greater creative problem solving.REACH provides educational tools that encourages students to more deeply understand time, space, place, and human-environment interaction to ultimately understand the historical importance of engineering and its role in society, and will help to create more technologically informed citizens.
Your contribution to the REACH Fund of the IEEE Foundation is your opportunity to inspire teachers, engage students, and bring the history of technology alive!
Investing in Signature Programs offers donors an opportunity to engage deeply in addressing a specific challenge for maximum impact.
