Jon C. Taenzer Bequest Continues Longtime Global Impact
Jon C. Taenzer was a renowned research engineer, senior scientist, electronics engineering inventor/patent holder, author, IEEE Life Senior Member and IEEE Goldsmith Legacy League member who passed in 2019.The IEEE Foundation is pleased to share that the Jon C. Taenzer Memorial Fund, established thanks to a generous bequest from the Estate of Jon C. Taenzer, continues its designated goal of providing funding for life-changing projects in developing countries. The Foundation recently approved funding, in the amount of US$22,616 for three IEEE projects designed to foster technological advancements, support entrepreneurial activities, and cultivate a lifelong interest in science and technology around the world.
IEEE Kenyatta University Student Branch Innovation Week & Industry Symposium
- To enhance community engagement and foster the promotion of technological advancements within the broad Kenyan landscape, this five-day event will feature technology workshops and training as well as networking opportunities.
IEEE Region 9 Entrepreneurship Ambassadors Program
- Building on the success of a similar initiative, this program will organize mentorship, networking opportunities, and funding to attend key entrepreneurship events for those within IEEE Region 9.
IEEE Vizag Bay Section SciFusion Event
- Through hands-on workshops, interactive exhibits, and engaging activities, this SciFusion event will help to cultivate a lifelong interest in science and technology for students in the Vizag Bay Section, India.
Thanks to the generous bequest of Jon Taenzer, these impactful programs supporting engineers in developing countries promise to bring positive change in their communities.
