Jon C. Taenzer was a renowned research engineer, senior scientist, electronics engineering inventor/patent holder, author, IEEE Life Senior Member, and IEEE Goldsmith Legacy League member who passed away in 2019. Thanks to a generous bequest from the Estate of Jon C. Taenzer, the IEEE Foundation established the Jon C. Taenzer Memorial Fund in 2019. This fund supports engineers in developing countries and funds breakthroughs in aids for people with disabilities.Â
Recently funded projects include: The Spectrum Assistive Technologies Fellowship Program and the Bengaluru Mobility Challenge 2024, an IEEE Dataport Data Competition, and continual investment in service learning through the EPICS in IEEE Access and Abilities projects.
