Established in 2008, National Estate Planning Awareness Week is observed annually during the third week in October to recognize the need, importance and benefits of estate planning.
Estate Planning Week 2022
Dear ,

This week we celebrate Estate Planning Awareness Week: the IEEE Foundation is delighted to highlight the importance of estate planning, share examples of donors who are Forever Generous, and offer valuable estate planning tips and tools designed to help you leave a permanent legacy of philanthropy, while also being prudent financially.

A 2022 survey by investigated the top trends in estate planning and the importance of planning ahead. They found:
  • 1 in 3 Americans who have no will or living trust claim they don’t have enough assets to leave behind
  • Americans who have had a serious case of COVID-19 are 66% more likely to have a will than those who have not
  • Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of 18-34 year-olds with estate planning documents has increased by 50%

It is never too early or too late to start! As you create or update your plan, consider the role IEEE has played in your life and the #IEEELegacy you want to leave. The IEEE Foundation team would be honored to assist with finding the right way for you to integrate IEEE into your estate plan.

To help with your planning, we invite you to join the IEEE Foundation and David Sandhu, a former SpaceX Engineer turned Financial Planner. We will discuss how to “engineer” your future through the benefits and importance of estate planning. Approach your wealth, from one engineer to another, with tips and tricks on how to leverage laws and regulations and explore what makes the most impact on you and your family's future.
